The basics

What does Halo actually do?
Halo pulls every review your business earns, across Google, Trustpilot, Tripadvisor and app stores, into a single inbox, drafts a reply in your brand voice for each one, and tracks how each location's rating and sentiment are moving. Yelp comes in as a rating and a count, because Yelp does not release review text. You approve each draft with one tap and paste it across to publish, so every review gets answered without you living in a stack of dashboards. Automatic review requests after a visit are on our near-term roadmap and are not sending yet.
Who is Halo for?
Any business that earns reviews it does not have time to answer, from a single location getting serious about its reputation, up to franchise networks running hundreds of sites. Messaging and pricing are built around multi-location pain, but a solo owner can start on the entry plan and scale by location count.
Does answering reviews really move the needle?
Yes. Customers read how a business responds before they decide to walk in, and an unanswered one-star review reads as a business that stopped caring. Replying quickly and earning a steady stream of fresh reviews is one of the few reputation signals you fully control, and it is exactly the part that quietly slips when everyone is busy.
Is the reputation scan really free?
Yes. Enter your website and Halo pulls your public listings and shows you a snapshot of how customers currently see you: no credit card, about 60 seconds. Everything it finds appears on the page itself, with nothing held back for an email. The scan is free for everyone, whether or not you ever start a plan.

Getting started

How long does it take to set up?
Most brands are live the same day. You add each location, confirm the listings that belong to it, set your tone, and Halo starts drafting replies as soon as the first source is connected. There is nothing to install and no code to touch.
Do I need any technical skills?
No. Connecting a location is a few clicks: search for it, confirm it is yours, and everything after that happens inside Halo. If you can find your business on Google, you can run Halo.
What happens to the reviews I already have?
When you connect a source, Halo pulls in your recent review history, not just what arrives from today onward, so you can catch up on anything that went unanswered and start from a clean slate.

Replies & brand voice

Will the AI replies actually sound like us?
You set a tone (warm, professional, playful or concise) and a few rules, and Halo drafts every reply to match. Today you approve a draft and paste it across to publish it: posting straight to Google needs Business Profile API access, which is pending approval. Once that lands, glowing reviews will be able to auto-publish within minutes, while 1 to 3 star reviews always wait for your one-tap approval so a human signs off on the sensitive ones.
Will negative reviews ever auto-publish?
No. Anything 3 stars or below is always held for your approval — Halo drafts an empathetic, on-brand response, but you decide whether and when to post it. Threshold controls in settings arrive alongside auto-publishing.
Can I edit a draft before I post it?
Always. Every draft is editable, and you can regenerate it, tweak the tone, or write your own. Autopilot handles the volume; you keep the final word wherever you want it.
What if a reply gets something wrong?
No reply publishes itself today, glowing or otherwise: you post every one. Each draft waits in an approval queue, so one that misses the mark gets edited or regenerated before anyone else sees it. When auto-publishing arrives it will be yours to switch on, at the rating threshold you choose, and 1 to 3 star reviews will keep waiting for a human either way.

Requesting reviews

How does Halo ask customers for reviews?
Automatic review requests are on our near-term roadmap and are not sending yet. The plan: a webhook fires after a visit or purchase, and once your chosen wait window closes Halo requests a review by SMS and email — no manual sends, and no nagging customers who already left one.
Can customers opt out of review requests?
Yes. When requests go live, every SMS and email will include a clear opt-out, anyone who has already reviewed you will be skipped automatically, and a customer is only ever asked once per visit. The goal is more honest reviews, not more messages.

Connections & data

Which review sources can Halo connect?
Google, Trustpilot, Tripadvisor and the major app stores, with more added over time. You connect each source once, for every location at the same time. Yelp connects too, but as a rating and a review count only: Yelp does not release review text, so those reviews cannot land in your inbox for you to answer.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Where a platform offers an official login, you connect it that way: Google Business Profile runs through Google's own authorization, and we ask only for the access needed to read your reviews and, once Google approves our API access, post the replies you approve. The rest are read from what those platforms already publish publicly, through a specialist review-data provider, so none of your passwords are ever involved. You can disconnect a source at any time. See our Privacy page for the full detail.

Plans & billing

How does pricing work?
A flat monthly price that scales by the number of locations you manage: no per-reply fees and no surprise usage charges. Start with one location and add more as you grow. See the Pricing page for current tiers.
What counts as a location?
Each physical site or listing you manage under one brand. Pricing scales by that count, so a single café pays for one and a franchise pays for the sites it actually runs, with nothing hidden in between.
Is there a free trial?
Yes: your first 7 days are free on any plan. You enter a card up front, nothing is charged until the trial ends, and cancelling before then costs you nothing. We ask for the card so your reviews keep flowing the moment the trial ends instead of stopping while you dig out a payment method.
Do I need a contract?
No lock-in, in the sense that nothing renews you into a term you cannot leave: cancel whenever you need to and you keep access to the end of the period you have paid for. Be aware which period that is. Monthly bills a month at a time. Yearly is paid up front for twelve months, so cancelling in month three ends the renewal rather than refunding the balance. You can change your location count at any time on either.
